Gotta start somewhere...
I am just starting my photography adventure. When I was in High School, I purchased my first 35mm camera - a Canon AE1-Program. However, the spark for the art form and the necessary creativity really stayed dormant for the past two decades.
I am drawn to photography because there are no scores, no must-do, no rules to conform. Of course, there is the rule of thirds, compositions and light, but for me, it is about connecting people to a story. It truly is an art of expression. Over the past year, I have started to hone my skills and develop my photography sense. I have always enjoyed being out in nature - hiking, mountain climbing, backpacking, snowshoeing and camping; photography gives me a platform with-which to share that expression with a broader audience.
I will continue to work on my compositions and develop a style that I can call my own. I am also scheduled to take a 3-Day workshop with a professional landscape photographer which should help to not only further my technical ability, but also grow my network of like-minded individuals and special people.
This morning, I completed my first Vlog... It was a morning hike of Rattlesnake Ledge near North Bend, WA. The video is available here:
