Contrast of the Mind
As the sun began to crest the eastern horizon, the beaches of Jökulsárlón were riddled with small icebergs. The challenge was to capture form and feeling on a beach of chaos. This small iceberg is indicative of a changing time and a changing climate - with the dawn of a new day comes the uncertainty of change.

Liberty Bell - North Cascades
The Liberty Bell Massif at sunrise. As luck would have it, we managed to get a few clouds to catch the beautiful morning color.

Autumn Sunrise
At the shore of Little Tipsoo Lake near Chinook Pass, I waited as the morning color began to develop. While we had a mass of clouds to the west, the skies to the east were mostly clear. This made for an amazing mix of atmosphere and color.

Beargrass in the Late Afternoon Fog
Beargrass was spread through the alpine areas. At nearly 6,000 feet, the thin air gives rise to beargrass, glacier lilies, Indian paintbrush, heather, and a host of other wildflowers.

Black Ice
Sunrise filtered light at Jökulsárlón Iceland. The best light was actually just before the official sunrise.

Fire and Light on the Chamonix Needles
Taken from an amazing evening at the Lac de Cheserys

Storms of Hardergrat
As the storm clouds cleared from Hardegrat, I was able to capture this image looking north over the Brienzersee.

Alpine Reflections
On a night of not many opportunities, this image came to me above Grindelwald.

Mere de Glace
Long expose to capture the mood of the Mere de Glace.

Sunrise at Sunrise
Sunrise Lake was made more magical by a perfectly placed cloud to help in completing the composition. Many times, nature is the best photo processor.

The Dru
What can I say? The Dru showed herself in amazing evening light above the Chamonix Valley.

Dublin Sunrise
Poolbeg lighthouse in Dublin Harbor on an amazing summer morning.

Death Valley National Park

Epic Shots for a Reason - Reflection Lake
Early morning light shines up Stevens Canyon and casts its rays across the awaiting forest. Mount Rainier in her majesty is seemingly always at her best just after dawn.

Forest Floor of Bunchberry / Canadian Dogwood
Spring in the Cascades is a time of rebirth. This is evidenced by the wildflower blooming season - first in the valleys and eventually in the upper alpine regions.

Last Rays
Taken during a winter overnight. The Tatoosh Range in Mount Rainier National Park.
