Pulk_Sled_Thumb_BG.jpg

I produced a video about how to make your own Pulk Sled for use in backcountry travel. Pulks are popular with winter campers and winter bushcraft to transport larger quantities of gear efficiently into the backcountry.

This is simple project that you can easily complete in an afternoon. The following materials and tools are required:

Materials Required:

·       Plastic Sled – available at most general retail stores

·       12 feet of ½” Schedule 40 PVC tubing (two 6-foot sections)

·       20 feet of paracord

·       12 inches of ¾” rubber hose, cut in-half to two 6-inch pieces

·       Eight ¼” #20 flat washers

·       6-10 grommets large enough for paracord (3/8”)

·       10 feet of 1” webbing

·       One 1” plastic buckle

·       6 feet of 2” webbing (or other suitable from waistbelt)

·       One 2” plastic buckle

·       Duct tape

·       Two ¼” x 2” adjustable clevis pins

·       Two 8” pieces of 1.5” angled aluminum

·       Two 8” pieces of aluminum flat bar

·       6 ¼” #20 bolts with wingnuts

Tools Required:

·       Tape measure

·       Hacksaw (or other cutting device)

·       Sandpaper

·       Scissors / “Exacto Knife”
